Rabbits Eat Lettuce is a place of Freedom, Love & Dance Music. Camp in a beautiful natural environment and form a community of like-minded souls who want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city life. Rabbits Eat Lettuce lets us be human again. We can dissolve the social barriers and dance together.
Rabbits Eat Lettuce began in 2008 as a Tribal Easter party on the mid-north-coast of NSW and has become an underground tradition in the area, long lost brothers and sisters reconnect to dance, share stories, socialize and camp out under the stars. The event has grown a lot since it’s humble beginnings as a forest dance party but still holds the same essence of freedom and unique mystery it started with.
Camping out under the stars for four days with your best mates is one of the aspects that make Rabbits Eat Lettuce so special. Camping for the full 4 days is included in the cost of your festival ticket and is available from Friday 9am until Tuesday 12:00pm. Campervans, motorhomes and caravans are welcome. No “Land Grabbing” allowed, If you wish to camp with your friends please plan to arrive together.
If you’d rather have all the hassle of camping taken care of for you then consider one of our luxury camping options! Beautiful, spacious bell tents with foam beds, in a reserved camping area close to amenaties are available now from WOW tents. These will sell out. Pre-booking is essential. We know it can be daunting rocking up to a festival without your Doof buddies so we have reserved an area for solo travellers. That way you can meet other people in the same situation and form connections quickly. There will be a community lounge space for all solo campers to chill.
Hot Showers will be on site. We know you like to get fresh and clean after a big night partying! Shower use is charged at $2 per minute, which helps cover the cost of the shower truck rental, electricity, LPG, water and servicing.
Shower Facilities will accept $2 Coins so be sure to bring enough for the 4 days.

The following items are prohibited. If found in the possession of any patron they will be confiscated immediately and the patron may be asked to leave the premises.

First Aid & Patron Safety
We have employed highly trained paramedics and first aid staff to provide 24 hour medical care to any of our patrons while at the festival. If you or your friends have any injuries or health problems during the event please attend first aid to be treated. We have also employed a highly capable and caring security team who’s number one priority is patron safety, if you see any trouble or need assistance please communicate with our security staff directly.
We support the efforts of the NSW Police in ensuring the safety of Rabbits Eat Lettuce patrons and broader community in relation to travel to and from the event. Police will have an increased presence on public roads around the event and may attend the event from time to time. Police will conduct vehicle searches, RBT and Swab testing. We will have a breath-testing service available to guests. If you think you may be over the limit we recommend testing your self before leaving the venue to ensure that you are safe to drive. The safety of the community and road users is our number one priority.
The Laws of NSW apply in the festival. Anyone caught selling drugs will be handed to the Police.
We are very lucky to have the beautiful Richmond Valley Shire host Rabbits Eat Lettuce. Please ensure that you are polite and friendly when passing through the local towns on the way to the festival. You are ambassadors for the festival and your good behaviour and attitude will ensure that the community continues to offer their support.
There will be ATM's located in our market village near the Medical Tent. However if you'd prefer to stock up before heading out the last stop for cash and supplies is Casino (if coming from north) or Grafton (if coming from South).
Much to our satisfaction you wont get phone reception at our venue. We consider this a very good thing. People have become so attached to the constant feed of social media that they forget how to be. At Rabbits Eat Lettuce its time to unplug, unwind and enjoy the moment.
Festival Gates open to the public at 9am Friday 19th APRIL 2019. Anyone arriving before this time will be requested to return to the local township. Please do not camp along or block the road on the way to the event.
We have improved our ticketing area and ticket process so we are expecting to reduce wait times from 2018, however still expect waits of up to 3 hours to enter. Please be patient, relax and keep to the left hand side of the road.
The gates will COMPLETELY CLOSE every night from 11pm until 9am. DO NOT arrive during this time or you will be turned away. No pass outs or new entries will be permitted during this time except in emergency situations. This rule is for the safety of all patrons and to minimise disturbance to surrounding neighbours (and forms part of our council approval).
Pass outs are available every day of the event between the hours of 9am and midnight. Pass outs cost $20 per vehicle per exit/re-entry. This fee is a measure to reduce vehicle traffic and reduce the workload of our gate staff.
FREE CAMPING is available at Whipporie General Store on Thursday night before the festival. If you decide to take them up on that kind offer please be friendly and fun.
To continue the tradition of Good Fun we have decided to offer $150 entry to anyone who’s birthday falls during the festival. If you can present a valid Australian Driver’s License or Passport at the gate of Rabbits Eat Lettuce, showing that your birthday falls on either the 19, 20, 21, 22 April. we will let you into the festival for $150 cash! We look forward to celebrating with you xoxo: We will only accept Australia Driver License or a Passport as proof of birthday to receive this discount.
Our market village will have a wide range of healthy food options and delicious drinks. We have carefully selected the best market food stalls in the area to cater for all dietary requirements. There will also be handmade clothing, jewellery and circus toys sold in the village.
Ice will be sold on site. The cost will be $7 per 4kg bag. We know this is a little on the pricy side, but transportation, storage and electricity required to keep ice cold in the bush for 4 days is quite expensive!
In an effort to promote car pooling and reduce the amount of traffic on the roads, reduce green house emissions and reduce overall vehicles on site we will be charging a $50 fee per vehicle that enter the festival gates. The revenue raised by this fee will help us improve the venue roads and employ traffic management during the event. Motorbikes are exempt of the Vehicle fee.
When entering the Festival Gates you will be given a wristband, which will be your passport for the event. It is your responsibility to wear this wristband at all times. If your wristband is damaged or comes off please bring it to the info tent for a replacement. Security will be monitoring patrons and anyone found without wearing a wristband will be escorted from the venue & Blacklisted.
Your Wristband is also your Paypass Wallet at the event. When you arrive you will be able to load money onto your wristband to use at the market stalls and bar. Before you leave the event you can get a refund of remaining funds.
We work so hard all year and invest so much love into this festival. We have a zero tolerance for sneak ins. If you are caught trying to sneak into the event you will be removed from the venue and possibly charged with trespassing.
Anyone found sneaking into the event WILL BE BLACK LISTED from all future events.
If you let someone hide in your vehicle, attempting to sneak them in, you and your car load of friends will be spending Easter Weekend elsewhere.
If your finances are tight, we highly suggest you apply to volunteer at the festival or to be involved in one of the creative programs. Make sure to apply early, as places are limited. If you have good energy and vibes to contribute we will find a place for you xo
